Personality:

• As a child, Geralt's mother gave him over to become a Witcher, a monster hunter mutated by magic. Growing up isolated and spending his life feared by the people who he protects resulted in Geralt living his life—and seeing himself—as an an outsider.
  
• As a result of his isolation and the distrust Geralt has faced, he'd developed a stoic, laconic presentation. He does open up occasionally. Mostly with his horse, Roach.
  
• While Geralt has few close relationships, he is open to casual sexual encounters. The man has needs.
  
• Geralt demonstrates a strong protective instinct, especially toward those who seem to be outcast or misunderstood themselves.
  
• This protective streak extends even to monsters, which can occasionally put him at odds with the people hiring him.
  
• Unsurprisingly, Geralt's experience has made him cynical about people's nature. He's seen a lot of the ugly side of the world and while it wouldn't be right to say he doesn't like people, he also doesn't have a lot of faith in them.
  
• His sense of humor reflects this cynicism when it surfaces, tending to be on the dark side.
  
• This cynicism goes doubly for politics, which he prefers to avoid.
  
• While he doesn't have a lot of faith in humans or governments, Geralt also doesn't seem to put much stock in any higher power. He's resistant to the idea of fate or a higher purpose. This reluctance has occasionally come back to hurt him and his relationships.
  
• At heart, Geralt is a caring person who doesn't always know/feel comfortable with/have access to ways to express that. That caring is also much more about people, and people who are hurt or struggling, than maintaining social niceties or norms.
  
• The above traits, in combination, give Geralt a big reluctant dad energy—which is fitting because he is in fact a reluctant (adoptive) dad.
